Residence Life
Residence Halls
Fitzpatrick Hall, a co-ed modern high-rise, is home to our first-year
student community. By creating a "Freshman College" within the University,
we have provided an environment focused on nurturing and supporting freshmen through
an exciting new experience. Students, gender-segregated by floor, are housed in
double-person rooms. The first floor "Fireside Lounge" is a great place to
meet with friends or hold a study group. Freshmen are grouped into cohorts according
to their academic course of study, which allows students to benefit by sharing
intellectual pursuits and extracurricular interests centered on majors - such as
art, psychology or business - to create relevant experiences. These communities
within the community help build social, as well as academic interaction.

All honors students will have the option to reside in a newly constructed residence
hall -- Siena Hall -- with their needs in mind. Honors residents
live in four-person suites; one floor is all female. While "quiet-time"
in other residences is during certain hours, "Honors Hall" will maintain
round-the-clock quiet, which means that activities within a room (television, music,
etc.) should not be able to be heard in the hall. This environment is specifically
designed to support the intellectual development of this community of academically-oriented
students. Students must remain active members of Honors Program or have the permission
of the Honors Program Director to remain in the Honors Residence Hall.

Sophomores through seniors may choose between two residences:

Graceful and elegant Sansbury Hall is our oldest residence, providing cozy study nooks and lounges throughout. Sophomores through seniors continue to grow as they live together in this gender-segregated, co-ed environment. Single rooms - many include personal sinks - are a draw; some students request adjoining rooms to develop friendships. |

Constructed in 2004, our northern-most residence hall -- Aquinas Hall -- is also the largest. Upperclassmen will enjoy four-person suites - of two sleeping rooms, a common room and a bathroom - in this contemporary residence. Like all other residences, this building is Internet-wired - and for students who choose - cable-ready as well. |

On August 30, 2007 Ohio Dominican held a combination ground blessing/groundbreaking ceremony for its newest upperclassmen residence hall - Lynam Hall - set to open in August, 2008. The new upperclassmen housing will complete a quad with Aquinas and Siena, on the east side of Sunbury Road, north of Fitzpatrick Hall, and south of Aquinas Hall.
