Technology Services at ODU
From Information Services, to the Multi-Media Center, ODU offers many services to students through the use of technology.
Information Services
The Information Services department is responsible for campus computer and local area network support. The Ohio Dominican Information Services department is responsible for:
- Administering the Dominican Learning Network
- Technical Support
- User Education and Training
- Administrative Computing Support
- Network Development
- Management of User Accounts

The Helpdesk
Located in the middle level of Spangler Learning Center, the Computer Helpdesk is responsible for supporting Ohio Dominican University owned computer equipment. The Computer Helpdesk is responsible for the following items:
- Central point of contact for reporting technology problems and requesting support services
- Troubleshooting problems and issues with ODU computer equipment
- Repair and maintenance of ODU computer equipment
- Maintenance of computer labs and technology classrooms
- Activation of accounts
- Providing self-service offerings (password resets, virus updates, patches, etc.)
- ODU campus software questions and troubleshooting
The Multi-Media Center
Open during Spangler Learning Center hours, the Multimedia Center is conveniently located near the first floor Service Desk of Spangler.
The Multimedia Center is staffed by student workers. The student staff will provide consultation and assistance to students and faculty on the use of the equipment. Individual or group instruction is offered for specialized areas and needs.
Equipment such as video, cassette, CD players and slide projectors are located in common areas for individual use.
The Production Area within the Multimedia Center provides a variety of equipment and supplies for producing audiovisual materials.
- Ellison Letter Press - to easily cut letters/numbers/shapes for bulletin boards and signs
- Laminators - to seal paper and posterboard in plastic film for lasting protection (by request)
- GBC Binding System - used for binding booklets, manuals and reports
- Computer-generated overhead transparencies
- CD-ROM Writers
- Video editor/duplicator
- Graphic, flatbed scanner and Polaroid slide scanner - for printing hard copy or creating computer presentations.
- Hewlett Packard color plotter - for creating large format color posters (by request).
The Multimedia Center offers several kinds of equipment which may be loaned to faculty, staff or students for college projects.

Special instruction is available by appointment for equipment setup and operation, or for the design of presentation materials.
