Chevrolet Excellence in Education Award

Students must demonstrate academic excellence and community involvement. As part of the application process, students must include a recommendation from a high school teacher or administrator, official high school transcripts, and a personal statement (500-750 words) about their high school experiences. American Legion Oratorical
Contest set aside for student to learn more about our constitution, they must prepare an oration of 305 minutes. Others available also. For dates, sites and deadline information, visit www.legion.org. Awards: $1,500 - $18,000

Alva Taylor Memorial Scholarship
The Franklin County Farm Bureau will award approximately $10,000 in Alva Taylor Memorial Scholarships for the college year 2007-2008. Indivdual awards will start at a minimum of $500. For more information please contact the Franklin County Farm Bureau office at 614-876-1274 weekdays from 9:00 – 4:30. Awards $500 - $10,000. Deadline: March 1, 2007  

AXA Achievement Scholarship

Ayn Rand Essay Contest

Big 33 Scholarship Foundation
Big 33 Scholarships financial assistance to high school seniors who exhibit excellence in a well rounded educational and extracurricular program. Contact: www.big33.org. Awards up to $45,000. Deadline: February 1, 2008

Burger King Scholars
Student must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Work an average of 15 hours per week for 40 weeks per year. Demonstrate participation in community service and/or co-curricular activities. Must have financial need. Must obtain written recommendations/signatures from a school official and employer not related to the student. Recommendations are part of the application form no separate letters are required. City Year Columbus
The City Year organization is a nonprofit AmeriCorps program engaging young leaders ages 17-24 in 10 months of citizen service. A post-service educatin award of $4,724 will be awarded upon completion. Conact www.cityyear.org.  

American Cancer Society
Ohio Division’s Survivor Scholarship Program - Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: 1) Ohio Resident 2) US Citizen 3) Diagnosed with cancer before age 21 4) Under 25 at time of application 5) Plan to attend an accredited university or community college in the U.S. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, and community service. Diabetes Scholarship Program
The Women’s Board of Central Ohio Diabetes Assoc. will once again offer the Youth Scholarship Program to assist students with diabetes who will be attending an accredited public or private institute of higher learning. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Scholarship
