Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?
I chose to attend Ohio Dominican because, when I walked on campus, everyone was so friendly. I fell in love with ODU’s small, community environment. I also knew they had an excellent science program, and that I’d have a chance to work with my professors one-on-one. In addition, I was also able to continue my softball career at the collegiate level.

How do you stay involved at ODU?
I recently became a Student Ambassador for the admissions office, giving me the opportunity to learn a lot about ODU's history and meet a lot of great people. I am also a part of ODU’s Softball team, which has taught me about discipline, teamwork and time management. Having to juggle class, practice, and other extracurricular activities has caused me to prioritize and become more organized.

Have you participated in any internships?
I have not yet participated in any internships, but I have shadowed people in the dentistry field. Last summer, I started shadowing my dentist to help prepare me for my future career in dentistry. This allowed me to see the day-to-day functions that they perform, and all of the thinking that goes behind the difficult decisions they have to make on daily basis. Shadowing cemented my decision to study chemistry to become a dentist.

What is your most memorable moment at ODU?
Anytime I am with my friends or my teammates, it is definitely a memorable moment. It’s truly special to be able to be around my best friends all of the time, along with traveling and playing alongside them.

What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduation I want to attend dental school and eventually be an orthodontist or a general dentist. Then I would like to start my own practice or take over my dentist's practice, because he is the one that made me fall in love with dentistry.

What is one unique experience you’ve had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually?
During Make a Difference Day, my roommates and I helped a family in the community right next to ODU's campus. It helped me grow personally and spiritually by allowing me to put someone else's needs before my own. This experience made me realize that I love helping people, and that I want to help people the rest of my life.

Share an example or story of how you discovered your passion at ODU.
I think God has put in my heart a passion to help people by becoming a dentist. At ODU, my love for helping people has only been strengthened. I’ve had so many opportunities to meet with such wonderful people that are helping me to achieve that goal. As a member of ODU's Softball team, I am able to continue my passion and love of the game of softball and share that passion with some of my best friends.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?
I am proud to be an ODU student because of all the wonderful people that are part of Ohio Dominican's community. I’ve had wonderful opportunities to meet great professors, faculty, teammates, coaches, and friends who truly care about my success.
