Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?
ODU was recommended to me by a fellow veteran. I chose ODU because of the small classroom size. I have been out of school for almost 30 years so I needed to be in a setting where one-on-one help is available. I also like ODU's tutoring programs that are available to students.

What is your most memorable moment at ODU?
My most memorable moment was my first day of college — it was a dream that took 47 years to come true. I remember meeting my professors and the other students, all of whom made me feel right at home like I belonged here instead of treating me as the "old guy." It was very nerve wracking getting ready and not knowing what to expect, but this has been an experience that I will never forget.

What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduation I want to get a government job in the cyber security field.

What is one unique experience you've had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually?
All of my experiences have helped me grow personally. The way I was welcomed at ODU by the traditional students and faculty made me realize that I made the right decision to go college at my age, and that I have chosen the right college in which to get my education.

Share an example or story of how you discovered your passion at ODU.
From the first time I walked in carrying my backpack and computer bag, I knew I was welcome at ODU. There were no stares, no rude comments and no judgment. The professors have gone out of their way to help me. One particular math professor helped me so much because I knew math was going to be a struggle for me. The faculty at this institution had more faith in me that I had in myself, so I knew this was the right decision.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?
Why wouldn't anyone be proud to be part of a college like ODU? I had the option to go to any college in the State of Ohio, and after the way I was treated when I first arrived on campus, why would I ever go anywhere else? Panther forever.
