The Director of the International Office is responsible for three primary areas of study abroad: advising, study abroad program management, and campus outreach.
The Director is available to students on an appointment basis. The Director can provide general information on available programs, details about the application process, and instructions on how to get academic credit and financial aid applied to the semester abroad.
In addition to working with host institutions and academic departments at ODU, the Director advises students on their study abroad program, recruits, participates in acceptance decisions, and provides pre-departure orientations for students (as necessary).
The Director continues to work with students and host country coordinators throughout the duration of the program. Upon return to the U.S., the Director assists students in processing their study abroad grades/credits and evaluating the program.
In addition to the programs coordinated by the International Office, faculty members have the opportunity to lead short-term trips to destinations outside of the U.S. in order to enhance students learning of the curriculum through application and experience in a real-world setting. Any faculty members interested in personally developing and leading a short-term trip overseas should contact the International Office for details about the steps required to propose a trip idea and get in approved by the University.
The Director of the International Office is available to visit classrooms, campus events, and residence halls to give study abroad presentations. If you would like to request a presentation for your residence hall, class, or event, please email the International Office at International@ohiodominican.edu,
