Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant is an award to help needy undergraduate students pay for their education. Eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant is determined by the EFC calculated from the FAFSA. An EFC must be 4110 or lower for a student to be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
Ohio Instructional Grant/Ohio College Opportunity Grant
Students who are full time, residents of the state of Ohio, are enrolled in a degree program and meet certain income criteria as established each year by the State of Ohio may be eligible for the Ohio Instructional Grant or the Ohio College Opportunity Grant. OIG/OCOG eligibility is determined from the results of the FAFSA. The FAFSA must be processed by October 1 in order to be eligible. It is awarded to students in the summer, fall and spring as long as they meet required university enrollment deadlines.
Ohio Choice Grant
Students who are full time, residents of the state of Ohio, and are enrolled in a bachelor degree program may be eligible for an Ohio Choice Grant if they were not enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution prior to July 1, 1984. The Ohio Choice Grant is awarded to students in the fall and spring as long as they meet required university enrollment deadlines.
Federal Stafford Loans
Federal Stafford Loans are guaranteed low-interest loans for students attending school at least half time. Subsidized loans are available to students who qualify based on need. Unsubsidized loans are not based on need or income. Therefore, students and families of all income levels have access to federally guaranteed funds for college. Eligibility is determined both by need and the number of transfer credit hours a student brings into the program.
