| Throughout October 2007, you can help less fortunate families by paying
your library fines with donations of food during our “Food for Fines”
campaign.
Here’s how it works: for each can or package of non-perishable
food items you donate, the library will take $1.00 off your total library
fines, including OhioLINK fees. Also, watch for special “2 for 1”
donation days when your donation will count double off of your fines.
Cans, jars, boxed, or packaged food items will be accepted. Not acceptable
are perishable items or items marked “Not Labeled for Retail Sale.”
“Food for Fines” is part of Campus Ministry’s October
Canned Food Drive. All donated items will be distributed by the St. Stephen’s
Community Center Food Panty to area needy families.
In 2006, the ODU library collected over 1,000 donated food items. Our
goal for this year is to exceed 1,250 items. Library student workers are
competing in the can collection, so be sure to let us know which student
worker you want be to credited when you bring in your donation.
If you don't have any library fines, we'll gladly take your donation.
