Job Description:
--Assists with compilation of collection statistics.
--Reviews course syllabi to identify items for acquisition to the ODU Library collection
--Reviews collection profiles and other selection tools for collection development
--Performs basic catalog and database searches
--Assists with collection development and collection analysis projects.
--Creates labels and signs for collection areas.
--Displays book jackets on Main Stacks ranges to promote new books.
--Assists with shelfreading and inventory of various library collections
--Assists with shifting collection and weeding tasks.
Qualifications:
--computer literate with knowledge of spreadsheet software a plus
--familiar with or able to learn the Dewey Decimal Classification system
--detail-oriented, follows directions, reports problems, and asks questions to ensure tasks are performed appropriately
--dependable and able to work 8-10 hours per week
--ability to work independently with minimal supervision
--manual dexterity
--ability to lift 40 lbs.
