Offers news, business, legal, medical, and reference information.  Covers newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statutes, federal regulations, and SEC filings Updated daily.

 

Mergent Online

Provides business information, including financial reports, company news and securities data. Contains company data and annual reports for both U.S. and international companies. U.S. exchanges only—no private companies. U.S. company data includes SEC filings.

 

Standard & Poor's Net Advantage

Gives quick location of investment and market information by accessing the data contained in up to
13 influential Standard & Poor's publications, including Standard & Poor’s Industry Surveys. Updated continuously.

Regional Business News

Full text. Provides newswires, with information on business, political, economic and other news events. Contains the most recent 30 days of information from each of these wire sources.

 

Vocational and Career Collection
Offers coverage to 350 trade and industry related periodicals, including Advertising Age, Hotel and Motel Management, Restaurant Business, and American Machinist.  Articles on interviewing, resumes, compensation are also provided.

How Do You Find Out if a Periodical Exists in this Library?

 

·          Use the ODU Library Catalog to search for the title of the journal or newspaper you’re trying to locate in print in the ODU Library.  Choose a TITLE search and type in the title of the journal/newspaper you desire.

 

·          The library's journals and magazines are located:
 
(1) In print in the Periodicals section on the top floor, arranged alphabetically by title
(2) Back issues in print (usually prior to 1960) in the Back Issues Room on the bottom floor
(3) In microfilm in cabinets behind the Periodicals section
 
A microfilm reader/printer (with free printing!) is also available on the top floor.
