New Transfer Student Schedule
Resident transfer students move in to the residence halls on Friday, January 18, 2008, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Transfer student Orientation will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008, from 8:30am-12:00pm in the Community Room of Alumni Hall.
8:30-9:00am Registration and Continental Breakfast
9:00am Welcome – Sharon Reed, Dean of Student Life
9:35-9:45am Opening Prayer – Campus Ministry
9:45-10:10am Campus Community and Culture, Policies and Resources, Sharon Reed, Dean of Student Life
10:10-10:30am Keys to Academic Success – Torrance Powell, Academic Advising/Amy Spencer, Academic Resource Center
10:30-10:50am “Getting the Inside Scoop” – Current ODU Transfers
10:50-11:00am BREAK
11:00-12:00pm Important Campus Resources (Technology, Safety and Security, Financial Aid, Counseling Services, Career Development, Co-Curricular Opportunities: Student Activities, Study Abroad, Multicultural Offices)
12:00pm Complimentary Lunch – Hamilton Hall
12:00-1:00pm Buy Books, Get ID’s, Visit Helpdesk, Business Office, and more.
Transfer students may wish to join other students returning to campus for the Re-Fresh program. Dynamic workshops on a variety of topics aimed at helping you succeed at ODU will be offered on Saturday afternoon, January 19th and Sunday afternoon, January 20th.
