From July 2007 to June 2008, Bishop James A. Griffin served as Interim President of Ohio Dominican University. With more than 28 years as a Bishop and having led the Columbus Diocese for 21 years, Bishop Griffin brought a wealth of wisdom, faith, and knowledge to the Ohio Dominican campus. Named in his honor, the new Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center broke ground in March 2008.

The Student Center creates a community space to serve the physical, cultural, and spiritual needs of Ohio Dominican students. The Griffin Student Center represents the "living room" of the campus, and will be the focal point for student activities outside the classroom, providing a more vibrant community experience central to our mission as a Dominican University.  The student body now has a centralized area to hold informal gatherings, conduct meetings, study, be entertained, and have access to convenient student services and amenities.
