Larry Masek earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics from Boston College in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Marquette University in 2002. Before joining the faculty at ODU in 2004, he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He also has taught at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. His main research interest is in ethics, specifically issues about action theory and the doctrine of double effect. His publications include papers in The Philosophical Quarterly, National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly, Journal of Medicine and Philosophy, The Heythrop Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Ratio Juris, Public Affairs Quarterly, American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, and Business Ethics Quarterly.
