Master of Education Information Session on Tuesday, October 5
Prospective students for the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program are welcome to attend a information session on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center.
The session will discuss the various aspects of the M.Ed. program, and will also have information available about the Teacher Leader Endorsement program. Enrollment for the fall 2010 semester is still taking place, and it is not too late to register.
Ohio Dominican’s Master of Education program focuses on what professional teachers should know and be able to do. The five core propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), as well at the NCATE standards, help guide the curriculum for the program. In addition, ODU has developed a conceptual framework to ensure an advanced professional education program, which includes professional studies and research, leadership skills and technology application, and reflective professional practice.
To take the Master’s of Education program a little further, Ohio Dominican also offers three 8-week sessions that add to a professional teaching license or certification as part of Ohio’s Teacher Leader Endorsement. Each of the three courses provides the teacher leaders with a deeper understanding of leadership, collaboration, and mentoring and coaching. There are four different locations in the Columbus metro area that will be hosting these classes, the first of which is scheduled to begin at each of the locations at the end of October 2010.
