Ohio Dominican University Students Nominated for Visual Arts Awards
Columbus, OH (43219) – Ohio Dominican University (ODU) seniors Tina Esken and David (Jordan) Musall represent ODU in the 2013 Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Ohio (AICUO) Awards for Excellence in the Visual Arts competition.
Esken and Musall are among 18 senior undergraduate artist nominees who are competing for six finalist titles, the People’s Choice Award, and the Grand Award. The students were nominated by their AICUO-member institutions.
“Tina and Jordan prove that, at ODU, art takes many different forms,” said Associate Professor of Art Janette Knowles, Ph.D. “We believe in nurturing the individual so students exceed their own expectations. We also believe that students should be exposed to the widest range of materials, media and styles so they can truly find their own artistic voice.”
Esken, a Fine Art major, is nominated for her painting of a yellow Narcissus flower, “Narcissus.”
Musall, a Graphic Design major, is nominated for his photograph of a dairy farm fair display, “ADA Dairy Cow Banner.”
