Men's Soccer Earns Top Seed in Region Three, Hosts First and Second Round Games
COLUMBUS, Ohio – On the heels of winning both the GLIAC regular season and tournament championship, Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team was selected as the No. 1 seed in Region Three for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The Panthers, ranked No. 22 in the nation, earned a first round bye in the tournament and will play host to the winner of No. 4 Indianapolis-No. 5 Lewis at 1 p.m. Sunday at ODU's Panther Field.
ODU finished the regular season with a record of 12-2-4 and has a 12-match unbeaten streak, dating back to Sept. 29. The GLIAC titles were the first of any ODU program since the school joined the conference in 2010 as part of its transition to NCAA Division II.
This is also the first NCAA Tournament bid for the men's soccer team. ODU finished one spot out of the final regional rankings in 2012.
The match between Indianapolis and Lewis will take place at Panther Field at 1 p.m. Friday.
