• Admission Requirements

Ohio Dominican University is proud to partner with Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine to offer the ODU-to-OU Med School Early Acceptance Program.

The ODU-to-OU Med School Early Acceptance Program is an exciting opportunity for students to earn their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in as few as seven years. Please carefully review the program’s admission requirements described below. Only first-time freshmen will be considered for the program.

    • You must be admitted to Ohio Dominican University through general admission prior to March 14, 2014, to be considered for the program. We encourage you to apply to ODU and submit your required academic documents (e.g., high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores, post-secondary transcripts) early to avoid missing the deadline.
    • You must have a minimum high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum composite score of 28 on the ACT (1250 to 1280 SAT, math and verbal).
    • Strong candidates will have four years each of English, Math, and Science, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
    • All supplementary information including a separate ODU-to-OU application indicating your choice of either the 3+4 or 4+4 track  must be postmarked and submitted to Ohio Dominican University no later than March 17, 2014. Information submitted with a later postmark will not be considered.
    • Because of the highly competitive nature of this program, a group of 20 to 25 finalists will be selected after the deadline. We will schedule interviews with these finalists. We anticipate accepting 10 candidates into the program.
    • If you’re accepted into the program, you must maintain at least a 3.7 GPA at ODU, with at least a 3.6 GPA in all science courses. Required course work must be at a grade of B- or better.
