The primary mission of Ohio Dominican’s Pre-Nursing program is to prepare students for entry into Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
Students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing at Mount Carmel, but wish to have a traditional college experience, can choose any of ODU’s Pre-Nursing options. Students who wish to play intercollegiate sports can choose either the three-and-a-half or four-year Pre-Nursing options.
To date, 100 percent of ODU students who have transferred to Mount Carmel College of Nursing have successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Dr. John Thistlethwaite is the Chair of the Natural Sciences Department and Director of the Exercise Science program. He has expanded the Pre-nursing program from the original two-year option to include the three-and-a-half and four-year options.
Dr. Rebecca Rowoth is the Coordinator of the Pre-Nursing Program. She has been a member of the ODU Biology faculty for 26 years and was played an integral role in creating the partnership between ODU and Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
