The Ohio Dominican University teacher preparation unit provides distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs committed to the fundamental value of liberal arts education and deeply rooted in the Dominican tradition. The Unit is known for its student-centered and innovative approaches to teaching and learning; its commitment to service and community responsibility; and its outreach in response to educational needs. ODU's teacher education programs support the mission of the university by providing rigorous, professional education for individuals seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees and continuing education opportunities that integrate learning, reflection, collaboration, diversity, and technology. The programs prepare competent, effective, caring teacher-leaders capable of meeting the needs of all students in a diverse student population. The Master of Education program is designed to help good teachers become better teachers, expanding their knowledge base and classroom strategies, in order to improve student achievement. The M.Ed. program is offered online and at off-campus sites. The off-campus sites are located in P-12 schools in the Greater Columbus metropolitan area.
