    Program Description:

MBA 550, Global Business Enterprise and Trade Issues, is open to all students in the traditional and LEAD MBA program as well as 4+1 students. The MBA 550 course will be taken online for the second half of the Spring 2014 semester for 3 credits, followed by a trip to Seville, Spain at the end of the semester. The course will addresses important issues pertaining to cross-border operations and practices of multi-national enterprises as well as trade issues between nation states. In addition, this course integrates basic trade theories underpinning multinational business with case studies that illustrate real world applicability of these theories and making them more transparent to the students.

While in Seville, Spain, students will experience the business culture of another country; thus bringing subjects studied in MBA 550 into real life experience. Students will have the opportunity to talk with business and governmental officials to gain a better understanding of the complexities faced by the European Union and will ultimately be seen as more marketable because of this experience in international travel. Tentative plans for the trip to Spain include tours of local businesses and local attractions, excursions to neighboring cities, and speakers from various business-related fields.
