Sandra Skovron, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, received her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the ODU faculty in 2004 she held positions as a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University and as Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Sociology at the University of Cincinnati. She also served as the Project Director for the Ohio Governor's Committee on Prison Crowding.
Dr. Skovron's areas of research interest include public attitudes toward crime and criminal justice policies, sociology of law, and correctional policy. She has presented research at national and international conferences and published book chapters and articles in a number of journals including Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, and Crime and Delinquency.
