Dr. Shah Hasan Joins Ohio Dominican University as Dean of Business

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Dominican University is pleased to welcome Dr. Shah M. Hasan as Dean of the Division of Business. He will begin his official duties on June 1, 2009. As Dean, he will be responsible for leading the University’s undergraduate and graduate business degree programs.

Ohio Dominican’s Division of Business offers undergraduate degree programs in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Sport Management, Public Relations and International Business. A broad range of minors are also offered. Graduate business degree programs include three formats of the Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Management. ODU’s business programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Hasan has had a long career in higher education as an administrator and faculty member at The College of Wooster, The Ohio State University, Kansas State University, West Virginia University, Franklin University, Columbus State Community College, and Otterbein College. He is a frequent consultant and speaker and has presented over a hundred large and small audience presentations, principally in the areas of leadership, change and transition, human development, faculty work, strategic planning and managing organizations. Prior to coming to Ohio Dominican, he served as Director of the MBA program at Otterbein College.

He is active in a number of professional and civic associations and is a peer reviewer for, the Academy of Management. He has served on the International Practitioner Board of the Academy for Leadership and Development (for Institutions of Higher Education) and on the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Alliance for Women’s Studies. He currently serves on the WOSU Radio Advisory Panel, and as a trustee of the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, the Columbus Metropolitan Club, and the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission.

Hasan earned a B.A. from The College of Wooster; an M.A. from The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. from Ohio University. Hasan is a resident of Hilliard, Ohio.
