Ohio Dominican University to Hold Annual Christmas Vespers and Tree Lighting Ceremony

Columbus, OH (43219) – Ohio Dominican University (ODU) will ring in the holiday season with its annual Christmas Vespers and tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, on its main campus at 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus, 43219. 

With more than 100,000 lights illuminating ODU’s campus, this evening offers an enchanting tradition of lights, scripture readings, and holiday cheer. Attendees will enjoy seasonal music provided by the ODU chorus and band. 

The evening will start with the Christmas Vespers in Christ the King Chapel, located in Sansbury Hall. This is a traditional service of scripture readings and hymns. Following the service, the Nativity scene will be blessed in front of Erskine Hall and Christmas tree will be lit. 

Attendees can enjoy hot chocolate and doughnuts as children make their own special Christmas ornaments and have their picture taken with Santa Claus in the Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center. 

This event is free and open to the public.
