Join Salt & Light to raise $5,000 for Run the Race!

Ohio Dominican University's Campus Ministry student organization, Salt & Light, invites you to campus on April 20, for the Salt & Light "5K for 5K" to help raise $5,000 for The Run the Race Center, which will help create coding, art and science summer camp experiences for Columbus area youth! Additional proceeds will go to support Salt & Light, which facilitates retreats, service trips and more for students at ODU.

About The Run the Race Center

The Brian Muha Foundation/The Run The Race Center has been enriching the lives of children since 2000, providing exceptional enrichment and leadership development opportunities to young people in Columbus, Cleveland and Steubenville, Ohio. The Run the Race Center is a 22,000 square foot facility that offers a safe, cheerful, fun and loving place for central-Ohio youth after school and on the weekends. They provide snacks, tutoring, homework help, sports, music, art, tumbling, games, contests, parties, holiday celebrations, a library, gym, salon, a full meal every day, a food pantry and more. The Brian Muha Foundation/The Run the Race Club sees the beautiful value and dignity in each and every child, making it their mission to help them run the race of life and change the world through relationships with dedicated volunteers, mentors and tutors who offer opportunities and activities that allow children to grow academically, physically, spiritually and emotionally. About Salt & Light

ODU’s Salt & Light is the student-led arm of ODU Campus Ministries, creating community service opportunities, devotion/study groups and prayer meetings for students and the campus community. All members of the ODU community who are interested in mission and in ministry are welcome. The name “Salt & Light” comes from the words of Jesus when he said to his disciples “you are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13) and “you are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Salt & Light welcomes students to make a difference on campus, build connections with other students and pursue their calling to be a follower and inspiration for Christ.


5K FAQ

Where do I get my race packet?
Race packets will be available to be picked up between 3 to 5 p.m. on April 19 at the Info Desk in the Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center, and between 8-9:30 a.m. outside of Erskine Hall on the Oval on the morning of the 5K.

Where do I park the day of the 5K?
Parking for the general public is available in ODU's Gold Lot behind the Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center, located at 1215 Sunbury Road (on the west side of the street). Find it on Google Maps here for easy navigation.

What is the Kid Dash?
Runners 12 and under are invited to join ODU's mascot Thunder at 9:45 a.m. for a quick race near Sansbury Hall.

What if I'm not a 5K type of person but still want to support the Run the Race Center and Salt & Light?
