    ODU's Graduate Certificate in Public Administration is designed to improve your ability to navigate and lead across government sectors of society.

    About the Certificate

    The Graduate Certificate focuses on acquiring the administrative knowledge and skills in such diverse areas as governmental accounting, budgeting, government finance, government organizations, governmental management and governmental personnel policies. 

    The program enhances the credentials of graduate students and the professional stature of working professionals who need a public administration background for their current positions and to advance in their career. It is ideal for practicing public administrators as well as those seeking entry into public administration. 

    Courses in this certificate are drawn from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Public Administration.

    Traditional Calendar  (3 credit hours each) 

    MBA 554 - Public Administration 
    MBA 660 - Ethics and Social Responsibility 
    MBA 635 - Accounting for Government and Non-Profits 
    MBA 640 - Managerial Economics 
    MBA 655 - Public Budgeting and Finance
    MBA 657 - Public Policy 

    Total Graduate Credit Hours:   18

    The admissions requirements for the Graduate Certificate are the same as for ODU's MBA Program.
