• Mission

    Ohio Dominican University's Intervention Specialist (IS) Teacher Education Program prepares teacher education candidates for a state teaching license in Intervention Specialist (grades K-12). In addition to a wide range of professional education courses, students are provided opportunities to participate in 200 or more hours of clinical, field-based experiences in diverse K-12 settings with different instructional configurations prior to student teaching. It is the nature of this program to integrate theory into practice as the candidate is inducted gradually into the intervention specialist profession. It is the purpose of this program to develop reflective, problem-solving, caring teachers, who have the knowledge base, the professional competencies and the dispositions to be effective intervention specialists.
