    Why Choose ODU for your Pre-Nursing Education?

    Students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing at Mount Carmel, but wish to have a traditional college experience, can choose any of ODU’s Pre-Nursing options. Students who wish to play intercollegiate sports can choose either the three-and-a-half or four-year Pre-Nursing options.

    Facts about the Program

    To date, 100 percent of ODU students who have transferred to Mount Carmel College of Nursing have successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

    Faculty Highlights

    Dr. John Thistlethwaite

    Dr. John Thistlethwaite is the Chair of the Natural Sciences Department and Director of the Exercise Science program. He has expanded the Pre-nursing program from the original two-year option to include the three-and-a-half and four-year options.

    Dr. Brad Nelson

    Dr. Nelson is Assistant Professor of Anatomy & Physiology and the Pre-Allied Health Coordinator. His primary teaching interests involve physiology, exercise physiology, anatomy, nutrition and exercise prescription.
