• Counseling Services

Life can be complicated - especially in college. Juggling high-stake courses, home-sickness, unfamiliar surroundings and new people can become daunting - even for the most outgoing and eager individuals.

Ohio Dominican University's Counseling Services professionals understand that sometimes students just need to talk with someone who understands these issues - someone who can help in navigating through difficult times.

    Our Mission

Ohio Dominican University is committed to educating the whole person. Counseling Services is an integral part of the educational mission of this University and seeks to help all students achieve a sense of emotional growth and maturity. The aim of counseling is to help students understand themselves better and to cope more effectively with a wide variety of personal, academic, adjustment, relationship, and mental health issues.

  • Counseling Services Policies

Ohio Dominican University Counseling Services are provided by professionals licensed by the State of Ohio, who subscribe to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board and American Counseling Association. This ethical code requires counselors to protect the confidentiality of their communication with clients. This means that what you say to the counselor stays with the counselor, unless there is a determination that there is a clear and imminent danger to you or others, in which case this will be discussed with you.
