All full-time faculty in Ohio Dominican’s Master of Science in Sport
Management program hold a doctorate degree in sport management
or a related field.
Students can select one of two areas of concentration: Leadership or
Exercise Physiology.
Ohio Dominican has a solid network of sport professionals in Columbus and throughout Ohio to assist you in acquiring full-time work. Courses are taught during the evening and through hybrid methods to accommodate the working professional. Qualified students can complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.
Facts about the Program
Students can select a concentration area in Leadership or Exercise Physiology. This allows them to hone in on the skills they need to acquire a career. Students also can choose a capstone project in which they will use their curriculum and research knowledge to explore a practical problem. ODU Sport Management has a Board of Advisors comprised of industry professionals who help advise the curriculum and ensure the classroom experience will prepare students for employment in sport. The Board of Advisors is comprised of professionals from organizations such as the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew, Columbus Clippers, Ohio State Athletics, OHSAA, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Pickerington North Athletics.

Dr. Jim Strode, Ph.D.
Jim Strode, Ph.D., was the recipient of the 2012 Conley Award at Ohio Dominican for Teaching Excellence. He has an active research agenda in various areas, including philanthropy in intercollegiate sport and issues associated with coaching performance. He has presented papers nationally and internationally, and has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.
