New Student Orientation

Welcome Class of 2017! We are so excited that you are joining our Ohio Dominican University community.  

To support you in your transition to ODU, we have prepared an Orientation program that will provide you and your parents with important information about life as an ODU student and give you an opportunity to connect with fellow first year students, upper-class students, as well as faculty, staff and administrators. During Orientation, you will also receive your class schedule for the fall semester. It’s the perfect opportunity to get your ODU experience off to a strong start.

New students and their families have 3 orientation dates to choose from: May 17-18, June 13-14 and July 19-20.  Each Orientation will feature a program for students and a separate program for parents/families. Students are required to stay on campus overnight. Parents are welcome to stay on campus or off campus. On campus and off campus accommodation information can be found below.

Orientation Schedule Overview  

Orientation check-in will begin at 4:30 pm on May 17, June 13 and July 19. Orientation programming for parents will conclude at 9:00 pm. Orientation programming for students will conclude at 11:00 pm. Day two programming will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:30 pm for both students and families. Overnight Accommodations 

All incoming students are required to stay on campus, even if they will be commuting in the fall semester. This provides opportunities for all students to engage in community building activities and social events. Students must provide their own linens.
