• Project JumpStart

    Ohio Dominican's Project JumpStart is an innovative Dual Enrollment program designed for highly motivated high school students who are passionate about learning and excited by the challenges of college-level work.  It is part of the state's College Credit Plus program.

    This program provides students with an opportunity to earn college credit by commissioning qualified high school teachers to deliver an Ohio Dominican University course at the high school.

    Benefits of Dual Enrollment

    Students who have participated in Project JumpStart noted numerous benefits:

    • Enriches the educational opportunities of pre-college students who have demonstrated high academic ability
    • Offers university-level credits for select courses taught to high school students by ODU-approved high school teachers
    • Offers students the opportunity to fulfill some core university requirements while still in high school
    • Provides access to ODU resources such as tutoring, library and career development
    • Allows participating students the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma and college credit
    • Offers the opportunity to begin a college education at a fraction of the cost

    Admissions Requirements

    To be eligible for Ohio Dominican's Project JumpStart Dual Enrollment Program, you must meet all of the following requirements: 

    • Carry at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) OR a 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) with a ACT composite score of at least 20
    • Comply with high school course requirements
    • Have parent/guardian and high school official permission
    • Complete the application and enrollment process and be formally accepted to ODU for each course
    • Successfully complete pre-requisite course requirements
    • Submit an official copy of your high school transcript (High School Transcript Request form)

    Nationally Accredited Program 

    Ohio Dominican University’s Project JumpStart Dual Enrollment program is nationally accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP). NACEP accreditation is only awarded to those institutions that demonstrate compliance with quality initiatives, program development, national standards and communication within the dual enrollment program. ODU is the first university in the state of Ohio to be awarded NACEP accreditation.
