    What is START?

START (Successful Transition and Academic Readiness Training) is a program designed to facilitate your transition from high school to college. START fuses together actual college classroom experience, student success programs, involvement in the local community, and social activities to introduce you to many of the aspects that make up a rewarding and fun college experience! START is comprised of two components: 1) a two-week program beginning July 31, 2011 and 2) the follow-up activities taking place over your first year at ODU.

    START's Mission

The mission of Ohio Dominican University’s START Program is to expose under-prepared, yet capable college students to the demands of university life by providing a challenging and stimulating academic and cultural experience. At Ohio Dominican University, truth is viewed as a dynamic inspiration that can be found in all cultures and traditions and that should be sought after by all learners. In accordance with this view, the START experience will foster a successful, holistic transition to life at Ohio Dominican University for participants and allow them to get a head start in seeking truth, developing self-efficacy, accomplishing academic goals, and building lasting relationships.
