The Director of the Center is Catherine Colby, OP, Ed.D. Sr.
Catherine has a long and distinguished career as an educator and in
leadership positions in the Congregation of St. Mary of the Springs. Sr.
Catherine has served previously as the Chair of The Education Division at
Ohio Dominican University, as a faculty member, a school principal and a teacher.
In her community, she has served on many councils and committees. She has also
served as the Director of Candidates and as the Vocation Director of the
Congregation. She currently teaches courses for the Division of Theology, Arts and Ideas at Ohio Dominican.
The Advisory Board of the Center for Dominican Studies at Ohio Dominican
University will include faculty and staff of the University; members of the
Congregation of St. Mary of the Springs; and members of the larger community
who share the values and interests of the Center.
The purpose of the Advisory Board will be:
- to provide periodic review of the Center’s mission and purpose
- to assist in the ongoing long range and strategic planning of the Center
- to provide guidance, insight and direction regarding the programs,
initiatives and services of the Center
- to promote the activities of the Center
- to assist in the assessment of Center programs and activities
- to assist in the recruitment of Advisory Board members as needed; and,
- to assist the Center staff in developing and securing the necessary
resources for the Center.
The Advisory Board will meet two (2) times per year to exercise leadership
for the Center. Subcommittees of the Board will be formed and meet as necessary
to support the activities of the Center. Advisory Board members will serve two
year terms and be eligible for renewal. The Advisor Board will consist of 10-20
members:
