Aqunias Convocation 2003 Speaker

Dr. Sandra Yocum Mize will be the featured speaker at Ohio Dominican University's annual convocation in honor of St. Thomas Aquinas, to be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2003.
The convocation will begin at 10:30 a.m., when Dr. Mize will deliver a lecture on the theme, "Learning as an Act of Faith." The lecture will be held in the Little Theatre on the second floor of Erskine Hall.
Dr. Mize is an Associate Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Dayton. She received her Ph.D. in religious studies from Marquette University. Her academic focus is the history of the Catholic Church in the United States.
Dr. Mize is currently president-elect of the Association of Graduate Programs in Ministry and serves on the executive board of the American Catholic Historical Association. She is also on the board of directors of the College Theology Society.
Dr. Mize is the author of numerous published articles, has delivered lectures at numerous academic and professional settings and was co-editor of the book, American Catholic Traditions: Resources for Renewal (Orbis Press, 1997).
Following the lecture, there will be a Eucharistic celebration in Christ the King Chapel, located on the ODU campus in Sansbury Hall. The Most Reverend James A. Griffin, Bishop of Columbus, will be the presider and homilist at the Mass.
