Ohio Dominican Presents: Pope Benedict XVI: A Symposium

COLUMBUS , OH – Ohio Dominican University ’s Center for Dominican Studies will present “Pope Benedict XVI: A Symposium” on Saturday, October 22, 2005 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Matesich Theatre on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road.
The symposium offers an introduction into the thought and the life of the new Holy Father. Noted theologians and historians will reflect on various aspects of Benedict XVI’s life as a priest, scholar, theologian, pastor and shepherd of the Church.
The morning sessions will feature Bishop Frederick Campbell, D.D., Ph.D, Bishop of the Diocese of Columbus with an historical view of the new Pope; and former Bishop James A. Griffin, J.C.L., J.D., with an ecclesial viewpoint. Following their presentations, there will be a luncheon in the Colonial Room. In the afternoon, the symposium will break off into concurrent afternoon sessions which include:

The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion on The Future of the Church under Pope Benedict XVI at 2:00 p.m
Registration with refreshments begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Matesich Theatre Lobby. The registration fee is $35 per person, due by October 10, 2005 . Late registration is $45 per person. Checks must be made payable to Ohio Dominican University and a group rate (10 people) is available at $150.
