Ohio Dominican Presents Sacred Music Concert

COLUMBUS , OH – Ohio Dominican University will feature the musical talents of Fr. Jim Marchionda and John Angotti in a Sacred Music Concert, on Friday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.
The concert is being sponsored by Ohio Dominican University ’s Center for Dominican Studies. The chapel is located in Sansbury Hall, on ODU’s main campus at 1216 Sunbury Road.
Fr. Marchionda is a Dominican priest, preacher, composer, conductor, singer and woodwind instrumentalist. A member of the Chicago-based Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great, he served nine years as vicar provincial and is now a member of the Provincial Council. He has composed over 200 sacred music compositions and his ministry successfully combines the Dominican charism of preaching with a professional career in sacred music.
Angotti is a published composer for World Library Publications. After earning a degree in Marketing, he studied voice and piano at the U.S. Military School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. His experience traveling with the U.S. Navy Band and as a director of choirs of all ages prepared him for his current ministry as Director of Music at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, Tennessee.

This event is part of the Center for Dominican Studies’ Dominican Lecture Series. The Center for Dominican Studies was established through a generous gift by the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs. The Center promotes Dominican ideals and education and serves as a public voice of the university and community regarding issues of importance to church, culture and society.
