July 6, 2005
COLUMBUS, OHIO – Ronald J. Seiffert has joined the senior administrative team at Ohio
Dominican University as Vice President for Finance & Administration
Seiffert, 48, has had a long and successful career in the financial services industry.
He most recently served as Executive Vice President and National Head of Business Banking
for Bank One Corporation (now JP Morgan Chase), a post he held since 2002. His
responsibilities included overseeing Business Banking, a $1 billion revenue business
which provides financial services to small businesses in 14 states.
Prior to Bank One, he had a 23-year career with Huntington Bancshares, Inc. and The
Huntington National Bank during which he had the opportunity to manage virtually every
major line of business including commercial banking, retail banking, private client
services, mortgage banking and credit cards. At the time he left Huntington in 2002,
he was Vice Chairman, with responsibility for the Bank’s Commercial Banking Group.
Seiffert joins Ohio Dominican after serving on its board of trustees for the past
decade. He has also served as chairman of the board’s Audit Committee and
as University Treasurer. In making the announcement, ODU President Jack Calareso said,
“Ron received overwhelming support from those who participated in the search
process. His service on the board has prepared him well for his new role as a senior
administrator at the University. Ron has demonstrated effective leadership and
financial expertise throughout his career. What’s more, he has a strong sense
of the meaning and value of Ohio Dominican’s mission and vision for the
future. He will be a tremendous asset as we continue our quest to be one
of the nation’s preeminent Catholic universities.”
“The University has made tremendous strides since Dr. Calareso’s
arrival four years ago towards its vision of becoming one of our nation’s
preeminent Catholic universities. I am delighted and excited to have the opportunity
to join the senior management team at ODU to assist in bringing the full actualization
of this vision to reality,” Seiffert said.
Seiffert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from
Washington University in St. Louis, and completed graduate studies at the Stonier
Graduate School of Banking and Northwestern University.
He is active in the Columbus community. In 2001, he served as General Chair for
The United Way Campaign of Central Ohio. Under his leadership and with the
support of numerous community leaders, The United Way Board of Trustees and staff,
the campaign exceeded its community goal by raising more than $53 million.
Seiffert has also served as a trustee for the Columbus Museum of Art, The Columbus
Technology Leadership Council, The Financial Services Roundtable, and Cleveland State
University. He and his family are active members of St. Matthew Parish in Gahanna and
are residents of Blacklick.
Seiffert will begin his new duties on June 27, 2005. He replaces Roger Fecher, who
stepped down from the post earlier this month to become Director of Administrative
Services.
