Presents the Seraphin Trio - Rescheduled

COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio Dominican University will feature the Columbus Symphony
Orchestra Chamber group, Seraphin Trio - the trio of David Edge, Steve Wedell and
Richard Bell -- on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wehrle Gallery.
The Seraphin Trio is part of the University's Life of the Mind Series. The
Seraphin Trio formed in 1985. For the past 15 years, the trio has performed as
part of Central Ohio's Chamber Music Series and has regularly appeared at a number
of Midwestern colleges and universities.
David Edge, the Seraphin Trio's violinist, joined the Columbus Symphony in
1984. Previously, Edge was a member of the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Grant Park
Symphony in Chicago, and Harrington String Quartet in Austin, Texas. A recognized
chamber musician, Edge is the conductor of the Women in Music String Sinfonia,
and the Artistic Director of the Jefferson Academy of Music, both based in Columbus.
Steve Wedell, on viola, joined the Columbus Symphony in 1983 after serving
as the Principal Violist of the Atlantic Symphony in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Wedell,
an established teacher, performer and conductor, has performed many solo recitals
as well as chamber music concerts. He was the conductor of the Upper Arlington
Civic Orchestra, and currently conducts the recently formed Youth Philharmonic of
Central Ohio.
Richard Bell, on cello, joined the Columbus Symphony in 1978 and was appointed
Associate Principal Cellist. He performs several solos annually and keeps an
active private teaching studio. Bell, along with his father Digby Bell, is a
featured recitalist at the University School of Music in Norman, Oklahoma.
Wehrle Gallery is located in Wehrle Hall on ODU's main campus at 1216 Sunbury
Road. Free parking is available in the Visitor's Lot west of Sunbury Road. The
performance is open to the public and reservations are not required.
Ohio Dominican's Life of the Mind Series provides occasions for the
community to gather to reflect upon the ideas and events that shape our
culture. Sponsored by ODU's Office of Academic Affairs and Humanities Program,
the series features artists, musicians, intellectuals, and critics who
contribute to the life of the mind. The Series is free and open to the public.
