Ohio Dominican Presidential Lecture Series Presents NPR's Fresh Air Host Terry Gross

COLUMBUS, OHIO - National Public Radio’s award-winning Fresh Air host Terry Gross will speak at Ohio Dominican University as part of the Presidential Lecture Series. Tickets are now available for the public lecture on November 3, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in The Sr. Mary Andrew Matesich Theatre in Erskine Hall on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road . The event is free and open to the public, however tickets are required.
Fresh Air is one of NPR’s most popular programs. Each week, nearly four million people tune in to the show's intimate conversations broadcast on more than 414 NPR stations across the country, as well as in Europe on the World Radio Network.
The one-hour program features Gross' in-depth interviews with prominent cultural and entertainment figures, as well as distinguished experts on current affairs and news. Fresh Airwith Terry Gross has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Peabody Award and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Award for "Best Live Radio Program."
In addition to her show, Gross has also recently published All I Did Was Ask: Conversations with Writers, Actors, Musicians, and Artists . The book is a collection of interviews with people from the arts and literary community. A few of the subjects include Johnny Cash, Jodie Foster, and Eric Clapton. Publisher’s Weekly calls All I Did Was Ask “...a wide-ranging and entertaining look into the creative process.”
Born in Brooklyn , New York , Gross received a bachelor's degree in English and an M.Ed. in Co mm unications from the State University of New York at Buffalo . She has been honored with an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Drexel University and the Distinguished Alumni Award from SUNY Buffalo.

Gross’ appearance at Ohio Dominican University will mark the start of the 2005-06 Presidential Lecture Series season, which in past years has included playwright Edward Albee, educational psychologist Howard Gardner, playwright Tony Kushner, best-selling author Frances Mayes, Poet Laureate Billy Collins, and syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman.
