Center for Dominican Studies Life of the Mind Series Presents the Most Reverend Robert McManus

COLUMBUS, OH – The Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, the fifth bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts, will speak at Ohio Dominican University as part of the University’s Dominican Life of the Mind Series. His lecture, entitled A Contemporary Reflection on the Decree on Ecumenism of Vatican II, will be presented on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Colonial Room of Sansbury Hall, located on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road.
Sponsored by ODU’s Center for Dominican Studies, the Dominican Life of the Mind Series provides occasions for the community to gather to reflect upon the ideas and events that shape our culture.
Bishop McManus holds a licentiate and a doctoral degree in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He studied for the priesthood at Our Lady of Providence Seminary in Warwick (RI) and The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and the Toronto School of Theology, where he received his master of Divinity degree. McManus was installed as the fifth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Worcester in May of 2004.
