ODU Hires Bradley to Lead New Marching Band

January 31, 2006

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Dominican University is gearing up for some fancy footwork in the fall of 2006. Sean Bradley has been hired to recruit, develop and train Ohio Dominican’s new marching band in his position as Director of Instrumental Music.

The Ohio Dominican University Marching Band will perform at all home football games, high school band contests, community events, parades, and ODU functions.

“The addition of a marching band will mean much more than an exciting half-time performance at home football games. The band program will enhance many other campus activities by providing a pep band for other sporting events, an orchestra for student theatre, and performance groups for events and receptions on campus,” said Drew Klein, Vice President for Student Development/Dean of Retention.

Bradley anticipates that a band comprised of about 60 students will be ready to perform at the September 16 home football game opener against Tiffin University. The marching band will be creating a signature formation for Ohio Dominican— ODU! with a tuba player “dotting” the exclamation point. "The marching band will add a new dimension of spirit to university events. The students are eager for this opportunity, and the band will keep the crowd energized with a wide variety of music including rock, jazz, classical and country,” said Bradley.

Bradley has extensive experience as a marching band director, music instructor and conductor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Performance from Capital University and a master’s degree in Conducting from Eastern Kentucky University.
