New Faculty Join Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS, OH—Ohio Dominican University is pleased to welcome the following new faculty members:

Division of Business

Roxanne Beard, Ph.D. joins Ohio Dominican as an associate professor of Management. Prior to joining the university, Dr. Beard was an associate professor of Business and chair of Health Care Administration at the University of Northwestern Ohio. She received a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Bowling Green State University; an MBA from the University of Findlay; and a Ph.D in organization and management from Capella University. Dr. Beard is a member of the Academy of Management, the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, the American Association of University Women, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Ohio Distance Learning Association and the Ohio Learning Network. She is a resident of Arlington, Ohio.

Lisa Miller, Ph.D. joins Ohio Dominican as an assistant professor of Sport Management. She most recently served as an assistant professor of Sport Management at Ashland University and has many years of experience as a tennis instructor and consultant. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wright State University; and a master’s degree in Labor and Human Resources and Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Management, both from The Ohio State University. Dr. Miller is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, the American Psychological Association, Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, North American Society of Sport Management and the Ohio Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She resides in Columbus.

Robert Osborne joins ODU as an assistant professor of Accounting.  Osborne has held multiple adjunct teaching positions at Park University (MO), Franklin University and Columbus State Community College and has many years of professional accounting experience. He received an associate’s degree IN? from Parkersburg Community College; a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marshall University (WV); a Master of Science degree in Management from the University of Central Texas; and is an MBA candidate at Park University. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Association of Government Accountants, the American Society of Military Comptrollers and the American Institute of Professional Business Managers. Osborne is a resident of Pickerington.

Division of Math, Computer and Natural Sciences

Jennifer Whetstone, Ph.D., joins ODU as an assistant professor of Biochemistry. She most recently taught Biochemistry in the College of Pharmacy at The Ohio State University, and has also taught at Capital University and Columbus State Community College. Dr. Whetstone received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Dayton and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Chemical Society. She resides in New Albany.
