Ohio Dominican University Professor Named Editor of Theology Journal

Dr. Leo MaddenCOLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Dominican University professor, Leo Madden, Assistant Professor of Theology, has been named editor of the Journal of Theta Alpha Kappa, the journal of the national Honors Society for Theology and Religious Studies.

Established in 1976, Theta Alpha Kappa is the only national honor society serving the needs of those involved in the study of religion and/or theology at both the baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels of higher education. Honoring excellence in these academic fields is its primary purpose, and it currently hosts over 190 local chapters throughout the United States at both private and public institutions.

The Journal exists primarily to honor and disseminate student academic work in religious studies or theology and is published twice a year.

Professor Madden received his graduate training in Catholic Theology and Scripture at the Gregorian University and Biblical Institute in Rome, Italy, and was among the first American laypersons to receive a degree from those institutions. He teaches courses in Sacred Scripture at the undergraduate and graduate levels and joins with a team of faculty in teaching in the Humanities Program. Professor Madden has organized numerous programs for spiritual and theological growth at many parishes in Washington, D.C. and Columbus and has been interviewed frequently by local media on issues relating to the Catholic church. He is an active member of the Catholic Biblical Association, the Society of Biblical Literature and the Catholic Theology Society.

He resides in Westerville.
