Ohio Dominican University Appoints Board of Trustee Members

COLUMBUS, OH -- Ohio Dominican University has named two new members to its Board of Trustees. Mike Curtin and Ric Dillon will each serve three-year terms.

Mike Curtin was named COO of The Dispatch Printing Co. in January 2002 and vice chairman in January 2005.  Dispatch Printing is the umbrella company for the newspaper, WBNS10-TV, 97.1 FM and 1460 AM radio stations, ThisWeek Newspapers, On-Target Marketing/TheBag and WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.

Curtin began his 34-year career with the Dispatch as a general assignment reporter. For 18 years -- most of his reporting career -- he specialized in coverage of state and local government and politics. His beats included Columbus City Hall, Franklin County government, the Ohio General Assembly, and local and state political campaigns. In 1985, Curtin was named the Dispatch’s chief political writer and director of The Dispatch Poll. His responsibilities at the paper continued to grow in scope. He went on to serve as executive managing editor; was promoted to editor in 1995; and then to associate publisher in July 1998. In 1999, Curtin was named president of The Dispatch Printing Co.

Curtin serves on the boards of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Carmel Health System, YMCA of Central Ohio, the Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation, and the Catholic Foundation of the Columbus Diocese. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Journalism, and the author of The Ohio Politics Almanac, published by Kent State University Press.

Ric Dillon joined Diamond Hill Investment Group, Inc. as President and CEO in May 2000 and serves on the corporation’s board of directors. In addition to his executive duties, he functions as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and co-portfolio manager for two of its equity strategies. Diamond Hill is a publicly traded company (DHIL-NASDAQ), currently managing over $4.3 billion.

Dillon began his investment career with OPERS in 1977. Three years later, he joined Winters Bank and Trust in Dayton, which was later acquired by Bank One. In 1982, he and three colleagues founded the investment firm of Parker, Dillon, Carlson and Johnson. In 1986, he joined the Detroit office of Loomis Sayles & Company, where he worked for seven years. He returned to Columbus and founded Dillon Capital Management, which was acquired by Loomis Sayles in 1997. He worked for Loomis Sayles for the next three years, before assuming the top post at Diamond Hill. 

Dillon holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, both in Finance, from The Ohio State University; and an MBA from the University of Dayton. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has served on local affiliate boards of Volunteers of America and Lutheran Social Services, and as a vestry member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus.
