Ohio Dominican University Wehrle Gallery to Feature Works of Helma Groot

UPDATE: Due to the winter storm, the opening reception of Helma Groot's exhibition on Sunday, March 9 was cancelled. In it's place, a Closing Reception has been scheduled for Friday, April 25 at 5:00pm in Wehrle Gallery.

COLUMBUS, OH – Beginning March 9 and running through April 25, Ohio Dominican University’s Wehrle Gallery will present “The Distance Between Us,” an exhibition of mobiles and paintings by Helma Groot.  The exhibition will feature nine suspended mobiles and nine paintings. 

The Wehrle Gallery is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Admission is free.  The gallery is located in Wehrle Hall on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road.

A CLOSING reception will be held in Wehrle Gallery on Friday, April 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitors may park in the Visitor’s Lot west of Sunbury Road. For more information, contact Dr. Janette Knowles.

Groot is an internationally recognized artist whose mobiles hang in collections from Columbus to her native Holland. Her work often addresses contemporary political and environmental issues through a medium best known for its whimsical qualities.
