ODU's Project Management Exam Prep will prepare you to take and pass the Project Management Professional exam or the Certified Associate in Project Management exam.
Expand your professional skills and become proficient in integration management, time and cost management, human resources management and more.

Two Paths to Choose From
Whether you’re new to the project management field or a seasoned professional, are looking for a for-credit option or a non-credit program, we have a path that fits your needs.
  • Professional Path (Non-credit option)
    • Primarily for those who have a background in project management, AND for those interested in sitting for the PMP
    • Not for credit (May qualify for employers' professional development programs)
    • Classes meet once a week from 6 - 10 p.m.
    • $1,250 total cost
  • Foundation Path (For-credit option)
    • Primarily for those who seek foundational knowledge in project management, AND for those interested in sitting for either the CAPM or the PMP
    • Three credit hours (Meets many employers' tuition reimbursement requirements)
    • Students attend class on campus and complete one online eight-week course
    • Classes meet once a week from 7 - 9 p.m. for 8 weeks
    • $1,950 total cost (including books)
  • Program Start Dates
    • Professional Path
      Tuesday, May 17* 
      *Meets once per week on campus for nine weeks.
    • Foundation Path 
      Online course starts June 6. 
      On-campus classes begin Wednesday, June 15* 
      *Meets once per week on campus for eight weeks.

Our Guarantee to You

ODU guarantees that you’ll pass the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam if you take the exam within 90 days of completing the program, or you can participate in the program a second time free of charge.

  • Project Management Professional Exam
    To take this exam, you must meet these requirements:
    • A secondary degree, including a high school diploma, associate degree or global equivalent
    • At least five years of project management experience
    • At least 7,500 hours of leading and directing projects

    OR   

    • A four-year degree, including a bachelor’s degree or global equivalent
    • At least three years of project management experience
    • At least 4,500 hours of leading and directing projects
  • Certified Associate in Project Management Exam
    To take this exam, you must meet these requirements:
    • A high school diploma or global equivalent
    • At least 1,500 hours of project management experience

    OR   

    • At least 23 hours of project management education
