- A newly revised, vibrant economics curriculum focusing on analytical and research skills, ethics, the liberal arts and Dominican tradition.
- Flexibility enables students to prepare for graduate and professional studies in economics, public policy, business and management, or law.
- Location in Central Ohio lends itself to diverse internship and career opportunities in the private and public sectors.
The mission of the economics program is to develop students with applicable knowledge of economic theory, and appreciation of domestic and global economic policies and relations within the context of the liberal arts and Dominican tradition.
The program prepares students to employ economic analysis in individual, business and public policy decisions. It facilitates awareness of economic issues and associated policy perspectives, and their implications for economic justice, domestically and globally. It is theoretically and application oriented, and studies how the market system functions and how a well-informed citizen actively and effectively participates in it. The student may choose a career in business, government, research, consulting and/or teaching. It is good preparation for students seeking advanced studies in economics, business, law, and public policy.
