Biography: Jeremy Glazier graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with University and Departmental Honors, from Wittenberg University, where he edited the literary magazine and worked as Assistant Director of the Writing Center. At Columbia University, he studied with Lucie Brock-Broido, Alfred Corn, Marie Ponsot, and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, translator, and critic Richard Howard. He has worked for the Poetry Society of America in New York City, the Ohio Arts Council, and the educational measurement division of Harcourt. Professor Glazier teaches Rhetoric and Composition (ENG 110 and 111), Advanced Critical Writing (ENG 326), and 20th Century British Literature (ENG 353). His poems have appeared in a number of journals, including Verse, The Boston Review, Denver Quarterly, and most recently The Paris Review, which published his twelve-poem sequence "Conversations with the Sidereal Messenger" in issue #170 (Summer 2004). His interests range from the ancient world to the modern; from poetry to contemporary physics; from the philosophies of Dante and Deleuze to the unique sound-worlds of Iannis Xenakis and Brian Ferneyhough.
