4+1 Programs - A Unique Opportunity
For high-achieving students who know what they want from their university experience, . Students who qualify for our unique 4 + 1 degree programs may earn graduate degrees in one of the following areas:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- MBA with Concentration in Accounting
- Master of Arts in Liberal Studies
Ohio Dominican also offers adults an MBA in an accelerated and cohorted format through the LEAD Program.
Ohio Dominican's 4 + 1 degree programs are a campus-based, traditional program for students who welcome being challenged. MBA candidates will develop and integrate their knowledge and understanding of contemporary thinking in management and leadership while strengthening their level of functional business knowledge. Liberal Arts candidates will expand their appreciation for and understanding of literary classics, as well as contemporary culture, as they prepare to begin an exciting career or continue their studies towards a doctoral or other advanced professional degree.
Graduates of an accredited MBA program will be able to differentiate themselves from other future job applicants. They will be familiar with the latest thinking in ethical management and leadership while developing teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and leadership skills.
Graduates of an accredited MA in Liberal Studies program will have experienced some of the greatest art, philosophy, literature, film and political theory of our culture through directed readings and individualized attention.
Students who enroll in one of ODU's 4 + 1 degree programs will spend four academic years in undergraduate-level study and then during their senior year, will take graduate-level courses that will meet their undergraduate elective and graduate program requirements (when a B or better is achieved). At the end of the fourth year, an undergraduate degree is conferred. Students are then enrolled in graduate school full-time and will complete their degree in one year.
Ohio Dominican's 4 + 1 degree program is not for everyone. Students will find it to be a fast-paced and challenging course of study, best suited for those who have been high-performers in high school and who are committed to demanding study.

- The 4+1 MBA is designed to prepare students for the competitive world of business, as well as developing their critical thinking, writing and leadership skills.
- The 4+1 MBA with a Concentration in Accounting is designed to prepare students for the competitive business world, while meeting the academic requirements necessary to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam.
- The 4+1 MA-LSoffers students the opportunity to create their own program with a focus in the area of humanities. Students may focus on one or two areas of study such as English and Political Science, or they may choose a more interdisciplinary approach.
