The Bachelor of Science in Insurance & Risk Management program at Ohio Dominican University provides students with in-depth knowledge of decision-making processes and insurance entities in order to facilitate effective assessment and management of personal and organizational risks. 

Degrees and programs offered:

  • Minor in Insurance & Risk Management

The specialized courses in insurance and risk management are complemented by a strong set of courses in all the functional areas of business, and economics, and the strong Ohio Dominican University liberal arts core curriculum. 

This program prepares students for successful careers in the insurance industry through professional connections that support student development and career opportunities including accounting, product analysis, pricing, sales, marketing, distribution, information technology, project management and underwriting.

    Student either needs a Minor or Emphasis (complete 9 credit hours) but could also do both.

    • Required Elective – choose two classes: BUS 370, ECON 260, ECN 325, FIN 410, IRM 350, IRM 497, PRS/BUS 265

    Faculty Advisors should help students pick Emphasis Electives and Minors based on career path. Other electives should be towards minor or graduate school prerequisites (meet with Advisor) and all students need 120 credits (15 credits per semester) to graduate in 4 years.
